        I can only name one song by The Doors and I couldn't even name you a song by Janis Joplin, but I can identify them in a photo and even tell you how they died. On the flip side, I know quite a few NIN tracks, but I had no clue what Trent Reznor looked like until I saw his picture in this thread.

        Out of the rest of your list (Chris Cornell, Eddie Veddar, Layne Staley, Rob Zombie, Scott Stapp, Trent Reznor, Marilyn Manson), the only ones I could identify are Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. Didn't know who Layne Staley was. Knew the rest, but wouldn't be able to point 'em out.

        In my opinion, based on your list, only Marilyn Manson can hold a candle to Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin, et al in terms of recognition and notoriety.
