Playboy isn't sexy (at least not financially)

read that earlier today... article says their online properties have jumped to about 20% of their total net profit... or something like that..

old media moving onto new media... at least they have the foresight to move in that direction and not become dinasaurs...

So is that saying online is growing super fast... or that the rest is declining faster?

Either way it goes I'm sure Lens and the guys are doing much better than they ever were.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

I believe ICS plays a huge part in Playboy's financial growth.....

The company also has seen healthy increases in sales from "new" media, such as mobile and online services. Sales from e-commerce, online subscriptions and other entertainment operations, which include Internet advertising sales, rose 18 percent last year and accounted for nearly 20 percent of total sales.

The truth is Playboy's old businesses are doing poorly but Playboy's agressive moves into "new media forms" are making them bank.

Print media for "adult" has been declining for years now Chris - Playboy is no exception.

Totally agree on the Playboy brand which is the strongest thing going for it - and prob the main basis for licensing. Suspect over time, the brand will be milked dry until it's not worth licensing. The prime era of Mr Hefner was years ago and, never works out when someone, family or not, eventually takes over the operation.
