That's been the weirdest, but truly most interesting part of this trip. I expected to have it in shoved in our faces every 10 feet like it is in Costa Rica, New York, Atlanta, LA and just about every other hot spot around the world; but it's the exact opposite.
We asked the Colombian guy we're here with and he said something really poignant. "Sure, it's here and it's great...but the reason you don't have the guys on every corner like in other places is that it destroyed our country. We live in this amazing place, but because of that damned plant, we've been fighting for 20 years to keep our paradise."
I'll say it again, you don't know shit until you travel.
