I have had no less than 10 friends ask me to show them what I do...
2 of them I completely showed what I do. Everything. One even got access to all of my shit completely... server login.. etc... I said, all you have to do is duplicate how I do it, but DO NOT duplicate my shit in its entirety... A month later I see that he is referrer spamming my sites with his... Like as in he made the referrer list the target list or something... Quit talking to him altogether and he basically gave up because while he had the magic scepter of porn, he wasn't a magician and couldn't use it without instruction.
A good friend of mine wanted his girl friend to learn since he isn't computer literate. I show her a few things... Nothing she couldn't find out through Google. He calls me back and says don't ever talk to her again... She told him she was going to copy my shit exactly and steal it. He broke up with her that day.
A good friend from high school asked me to show him since he didn't like working manual labor... I had him start out at ground level... Read these 4 tutorials on TGP gallery building... Then read this tutorial on posting with Advanced Submitter... Then do the posting... Took him about 6 hours (after reading for about 2) to get 1 gallery up... Next day he did 2 galleries in 10 hours... He said, FUCK THIS... I thought you just sat at home not working... After watching you work for a 10 hour day, I guess you actually deserve to make more than most people do... You don't even take breaks!
I coach my daughters softball team and cringe everytime someone asks me... One guy figured it out. At the end of the season he said, "Dude, I know what you fucking do! I don't think it is alright! I don't want to start shit now that the season is done, but you'd better not be coaching next season or I will tell everyone!"

i have a nice way to solve all these questions: get yourself in a mlm program (pick a good one though) and tell them thats where all you're income comes from and get them in your group. Result: you never did a thing (except from filling in some forms with them) and yet that mlm program makes you a nice little extra. There is no substitute for experience. That's what you have to tell them. I have been in some kind of internet related venture since '97 and the payoff is a gradual incline. There are no shortcuts. It's hard work. And some people are afraid/lazy of hard work.
The most you can do/say to these people is put them in the right direction. It can be as simple as showing them where to register a domain and a few links to some tutorials. Then you can feel all warm n fuzzy inside cuz you did a good deed or you can call on that favor that they owe you one day Godfather styles.

i had previous knowledge as to what it takes to build websites. so it wasn't a huge surprise to me that there was a bit of work involved. i guess all those years learning how to use photoshop, flash, html, and dreamweaver for no apparent reason other then it seemed kind of fun to me really came in handy.

Fuck these lazy people that want to be shown. You can't show someone how to do it right in a few sessions, it's a study that takes time. I had never touched a computer in my life until mid-2002. Using adult and all it's freebies (tutorials, servers, content, etc.) is how I learned computers. It was a hobby at first but progressed till I was making as much as I was at my day job. At that point I quit my job and persued adult full time, continuing to learn everyday.
If you don't have the computer skills to learn it yourself, you can't do it.
