pro i wasnt knocking your fforts, im sure its health related.
im talking about the lamers who just want to drink diet drinks, but dont realize you cant consume alcohol without consuming straight carbs and sugars.
and arent sugar alcohols worst than regular sugars? anyway, i only know about the crap from my uncles making wine and whatnot growing up in the south.
the amount of sugar you use, affects the strength of the alcohol.
so rum and whiskeys have more sugar in them than a beer - you can count carbs all day but its sugar alcohols and the ingredients in the liquor you cant get away from.
and the sugars in alcohol will negate any diet attempt.

I have a relative ( my mother ) who is terminally ill with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease ) anyhow I only point this out as one of her doctors has said although he cannot prove it he said that her consumption of diet drinks may have contributed to this terrible illness due to the artifical sweetner they use called Aspartame. Upon further reading of this I found good Ole Rummy was one of those responsible as the head of Searle during the Reagan years for getting this crap added to so many products that are used world wide. I am by no means a health nut but for anyone who does not know about Aspartame please do some research anyhow here are a couple of interesting links.

drinking and dieting dont mix nomatter what b.s contraption you put together.
Drinking slows your matabolism down by up to 50% and on top of that, its pure sugar when broken down.
And another thing I really dont understand...For the most part, beers and spirits with lower cals also have lower alcohol percentage. You end up drinking more to get as fucked up so it all balances out...
Here's a solution...if you're going to go out drinking
a) call it a "day off"
b) go for a run and eat a low carb diet for the day so that your body A) Will have a already risen metabolic rate that it will lowero B) Can have a better time metabolizing all the sugar C) You'll have a calory deficiency already going for the day so drinking will just balance you out
