The way ChargeMeLater and 123Bill function are both similar in nature. The simple answer to your question of where does the "difference" go.. is that the bulk of it goes uncollected. Both solutions are basically for an audience of US residents that do not posess either a credit card or a checking account. Collections are difficult and both companies payouts reflect that.

What we provide for merchants is a way to reach tens of millions of people that live paycheck to paycheck here in the US. I believe both of our collections processes definitely have their differences but know that neither company makes it easy for consumers to not pay. Ultimately, when a 123bill debt goes unpaid it ends up on someone's credit report. Unfortunately, that is not a motivator for all of the "lowest common denominator" consumers out there.

What we really end up doing is factoring the entire collections process for merchants. We don't realize all of our monies for a minimum of 60 days. Our processes give merchants a solid solution that tells them exactly what they are going to be paid and when they are going to receive payment. This way all of the guess work is removed for merchants so that they can build an affiliate payout structure around it.

Ultimately, it represents found money for paysites - even if it's not large amounts of it.
