I still don't understand people trying to use the excuse of having a "board persona". Seriously, hasn't anyone ever actually thought about that? It is a direct extension of the actual person in every way.
- The board member is the one who chose that persona
- The member enjoys that persona (No one subjects themselves to being uncomfortable by their posts)
- Every post comes from the member's own mind and imagination. (The persona does not have it's own brain)
- The persona is still your persona. You, and only you are responsible for it.
Anyway. This probably deserves it own thread. As it's directed at a lot more people than nofx. This is an adult webmaster board, where people do business. If you choose to view it as a game or a joke. Then don't get upset when people view you as unprofessional.

a "board persona" is one thing, but it still takes that persons mind to come up with that crap.
If I come on here and post jokes all the time, that's my board persona. I still came up with or heard the jokes. I still had the desire to tell the jokes. Those jokes were IN MY HEAD.
So if someone comes here and posts hurtful insults, disgusting pictures, rude comments and just generally incites hate for fun.... that's IN THEIR HEAD. It came from that person. It's part of who they are. It didn't just come out of thin air.
Board persona or not, own up to your own statements. If you don't think that way, then there's no excuse for talking that way. If you said it, you thought it. So don't try the "board persona" excuse because that just doesn't wash with me.Comment

I realize he is a 21 yr old kid who thinks he has it all figured out and I would like to let this go already, but, I hope others who have given this punk the thumbs up in all the threads I have read by him and think because someone else said racial and hate remarks openly that it is acceptable, think twice. People may not have called him out in those threads and just because a few other people who's family trees never forked gave him the thumbs up, does not mean the great great majority of even sleazy pornographers could stand doing business with a hater. Grow up and don't think because something is posted here and some people laugh at it, that there is an implicit acceptance of those hurtful views around here.Comment

In the couple of days since he's been hired by you, he's made dozens of posts referring to the gfy community using all sorts of derogatory terms, is this your marketing ploy to lure prospective affiliates from the gfy audience? He may know how to market adult sites, but as a company rep he's a public relations nightmare. There is no webmaster on GFY that would go to a show and kill him. Since GFY has been around every show someone was going to kick someones ass, and many people kicking many other people's asses. When NOFX is sent to a show people will buy him drinks and get to know him like any other person at the show.Comment

He is a friend that I care for and did not want to see him get so hated that he could no longer work in adult.
For us it's about how he conducts himself from the start of working with us, and not his past.
We all have done things we regret and it should not be held against us. We all should be given a chance to show we can work, we can be professional and we can get the job done. The affiliates he's already been dealing with are more then happy with his work ethics.
What this comes down to for us is how he handles himself while being employeed by us. We are trying to help him grow, which there is nothing wrong with in my book.Comment
