    Any parents with a colicky baby?

    Its a nightmare! I haven't slept for 3 days and its really awful. Have tried some meds and I just picked a new one today that I'm hoping could help.

    Have anyone tried the The SleepTight? (sort of vibrator that you fit under the bed) .. supposed to be heavily recommended in the US but its $400 up here so kinda wanna check with people before I order...

                              I would not reccomend any meds other than if the doctor has prescribed them. However, there are some safe gas relief meds & you can help relieve the baby's gas, which is one of the sypmtoms.

                              Try changing the nipples and bottle,, colic can sometimes be brought on by the baby sucking in air during feeding,

                              We switched to Vent Aire & the problem's been resolved,


                              Usually, a baby is colicy when he/she needs to burp but it won't come out,,

                              Instead of patting for burping, try rubbing his/her back.. starting from bottom & gently rubbin up towards shoulders to try to coerce the burp out of him/her

                                      Get some mylicon.. it's for gas.
                                      What are you feeding the baby?
                                      If it's formula, she could be allergic to something in it.
                                      If it's breast fed, something mom ate could be bothering it.
                                      (Things like milk, broccoli, etc)

                                      I'd suggest a baby swing or vibrating seat before a $400 thing that makes the bed vibrate. Swings and seats have some kind of evil power over babies and no matter how cranky they are, they'll fall asleep. I suggest you do to! As soon as you put the baby in the swing, lay down.

                                          believe me.. I've tried most things.. but when you've rubber, patted and walked for hours and miles it gets really frustrating.. if that helped you guys, you had it pretty easy :/ our guy keeps crying all day and all night

                                          lack of sleep is just awful... trying a safe gas relief meds that was recommend by a local midwife and he's actually been sleeping for a couple... if he keeps it up 20 more mins thats a new record

                                              only breast feeding and she's given up most things.. anything from milk to bread to all sorts of things.. is the vibrator thing recommended in the US like the ads say or is it just a promo?

                                                  Yeah - from 4 years ago - it was about 18 to 24 months of pure hell. I honestly didn't think I was going to survive.

                                                  Two things helped, but not a lot:
                                                  -Mylicon Drops - really helped degass the baby which helped the endless crying: http://www.mylicon.com/

                                                  -Vibrating bouncy reclining seat (not a full fledged crib vibration, but really helpful to get them to mellow out enough to go to sleep)

                                                              mylicon looks like what I bought today (only the norwegian version).. same dosage etc.. I'm prepared to buy anything to get some sleep..

                                                                      right... back after a week at the hospital... done tons of tests on the poor little guy and it seemes that he is allergic to mothersmilk (yep yep, no kidding)...

                                                                      5 months of screaming and problems seemes to be gone after he was put on a diet... costs me $118 per can and the can lasts for little over 2 days... :/

                                                                                      BTW.. if/when it is colic that someone is dealing with, the best thing in the world is warm herbal peppermint tea. Worked wonders through both of mine (oh so many years ago.

                                                                                                                  my son was the same way and once I took him off his moms milk and put him on Enfalac baby formula he was fine.
                                                                                                                  it was hell for awhile there, I even found a sign to hang on the wall.
                                                                                                                  it had a big circle on that said "when frustrated bang head here untill unconsiouse - repeat when needed".

                                                                                                                                              well one of my kids didnt like breastmilk the same way for the first few months it complained all the time, once we switched to formula it was happy and content, we didnt check if he was allergic but could have been.. so maybe your kid doesnt need the expensive stuff , just needed something more filling..

                                                                                                                                                      Try putting him on his belly on the clothing dryer and start it, the vibration will help the gas move in the intestine. Also, one thing that has always worked to get him to sleep is to go for a car ride... the vibration once again will put him to sleep. One last thing, ask your wife to put the baby on her belly so that they are facing each other and it usually did the job too. Good Luck, I thank the universe everyday that we got out of that 6 months ago!

The munchkin was colicky, and I thought I would lose my mind. He screamed 8-9 hours at a stretch. I'm ashamed to say that it gave me some pretty evil thoughts about him at times.
