it is very likely though that you have two graphic cards and you swapped them - one on-board and one "normal". So, basically plug your monitor cable to the other one and you should "see" again. Or you can swap them back to what it used to be in the bios settings...

Really? Well XP is a super shitty operating system and yes it's VERY possible to configure it to show NOTHING after startup. In fact it's fuckin' EASY to do. Just go disable your display adapter and sit back and see how much you'll have. I did open the case and there is ONLY on board graphics. The AGP just has dust in it.
It starts to boot, it shows the logo, and then BAM all black, and the funny thing is, you can hear it booting. You can hear all your shit loading up.
