oscars rule.. only fish you can pet... seriously when they get older they will snatch food out of your hand a foot above the tank.. keep the lid closed

only my ass, triggerfish like the clown trigger are extremely aware and responsive

cephalopods such as octopi will quickly [30 minutes] figure out how to open a mason jar if they recognize the contents as food

clownfish too like perculas.

diiscus are great, I bred them in a planted tank. It is a bitch to keep oxygen up and plants alive in the temperatures discus like

best bet is simple underpopulation

I love discus but we have such bad water and the availability of aquarium supplies here is sparse.

Our water is 8.1 with a carbonate hardness of >130

.

all the hardcore breeders use bare tanks with 2 sponge or box filters changed on opposing time schedules then just airflow they honestly do great in such a clean simple setup with high temps [85-90]

30 or 40 breeders are the ultimate tanks for this but any tank with decent surface area to gallon content ratio will do

just dont use a 45 show or something .. 36x12x24 = terrible tanks, good for aboreal reptiles that is about it or something with remote filtration & oxygen exchange
