Got my ass handed to me.

About 3-4 days ago I got what I felt was a mild cold. Over the course of an hour or so it went from mild to all expense paid trip to abu ghraib prison. Shit hit my head like a sledge hammer and then poured down my throat with roughly the same soothing sensation as molten lead. It then took up residency in my chest.
I have been pounding back thera-flu, cold-ez, nyquil, thera-flu cold strips, and asprin like webmasters at an open redbull and vodka bar.
Today I still have a lot of liquid in my chest and am still hacking up ghoulies every 15 minutes or so. It appears to be passing. I say appears because I thought that was the case yesterday afternoon, then 20 minutes after I felt better I spiked a 103 temp and got the chills and bad coughing fits again.

Word of advice to anyone. Avoid this damn cold. It its not playing friendly.
BTW my entire house smells like Eucalyptus.

For something like this? Nah, if it would of lasted a few more days or gotten much worse maybe.
After you deal with as much medical crap as I do on a daily basis. You get to know medicine pretty damn well. Even my doctor often asks what meds I think I may need or what tests I think should be ran.

I did however come up with a very key theory in regards to catching colds.
Upcoming deadlines cause colds. I am sure of this.

Whenever I have extra or spare time, healthy as can be. Let a deadline come up for some project and it summons the oogies.

You may have an infection. Your body may also just be raising its temp pumping out white blood cells to kill whatever is in your body.
You end up going to the ER, waiting for hours.
They draw some bloodwork and tell you they will have cultures back in a few days.
They then send you home with a generic antibiotic (which I am mostly already immune too) and tell you to take asprin every couple of hours. Then lecture you about cold wash rags and so on.
In the meantime you are now in an environment full of nasty bugs with an already weakend immune system. Plus you get a big ass bill to boot.

Could yes, though pretty damn sure I do not. Everything is clearing out fairly quickly, and I am getting better at a rapid rate.

Worse case is if I spike another fever. Then I will hit myself with some septra and cipro and schedule a doctors visit the next day. Though that really is a last resort option that both myself and my doctor has planned for in such instances.

If I took all that I'd be in a coma for a week. Our schools are on strike here so I have 3 kids at home to take care of, unfortunately. I have to keep my wits about me
