Podfather predicts that ipod porn will be huge!

The adult-entertainment industry that kick-started the pre-recorded home-video market is likely to do the same with video podcasts.

Adam Curry, president of PodShow Inc., said this week's announcement of the new video iPod from Apple Computer (AAPL: news) sets the stage for more big changes in media

"Porn is just going to be huge," he told listeners to his Daily Source Code podcast this week. "The porn guys are just going, 'holy moly,' " -- in gratitude for the new market that's opened up to them.

I don't get it.. Video Ipod just plays mpegs, which is what most of the clips people have now.. not like you can surf to a site via your Ipod and download em, you just drag your clips over to it, and done.

So where's the new market?

It will be useless. It is not wide screen.
Most new productions are releasing in 16:9 format.

Old 4:3 wont do the trick for tomarrow's porn lovers, unless they like re-runs.

Wanna see what I am talkin about watch a wide screen porn clip on the PSP.

It's a new market because people who are clueless with most other forms of media seem to understand iPod. Look at the popularity of podcasting, and mp3's. The idea is nothing new... been around since what 94, 95. People didn't catch on heavily until Rio and iPod and the followers flooded the market.

Just like mobile porn isn't for everyone pod porn won't be either.

However a few million people may just put porn on their ipods so why not cater to them? Some might just see it as an added bonus to your members area if you have videos formatted for the ipod.

Yes the porn has always been there.
But making it mobile and integrating the videocasts in "user friendly" software IS a new market.

I'm glad most of you don't see this Coming and STAYING!!!

All those galleries you see out there are using stand mpegs... the IPOD requires MP4, which must be specially encoded.

My friend is shooting the storms right now in fl on a betacam and he produces shows for the speed channel in guess what beta cam. Three months ago he did the hooters pay per view guess what they shot that with dvx100a"s. I can give you tons of examples of cable stations currently buying tv shows shot in sd.
