Are there any webmasters on here from the bay area <i know there are ;-)>? If so are there any get togethers here? (webmaster nights out, etc...)

We used to have webmaster get togethers in Vegas, didn't know if that was something you all did here or not.

I am originally from the Bay Area, San Jose/Santa Clara.

Actually lived at Saratoga Ave and the 101 Apartments.
Norwalk Apartments.

Sometimes I miss the Bay Area, however the area has lost it's appeal since the .BOMB era and the aftermath.

Used to goto the brass Rail and Kit Kat on a daily basis.
THe only places I actually miss still.

Yo, Bay Area representing.

I am game for a get together. The Bay Area used to have a fairly organized webmaster community (circa 1999), that held various events that were promoted through Bay Area Adult Sites - at one point they had around 100 members (I see the BayAreaAdultSites.org web site is no more).

Anyway, I think a monthly meet and greet sounds great. Just don't do it on Monday Nights (football y'know). Also, I am way busy getting ready for the legendary Bay Area event known as the Exotic Erotic Ball.

In our EEB booth this year, I will have several Bay Area models, as well as my porn buddy Mika Tan who is flying up from LA to sign copies of the first Asian Diva Girls DVD in my booth (Mika is the cover model - I'll post more of my press release later in a seperate thread, LOL).

So, don't be shy Bay Area webmasters...let's make this mutha shake.

Brittania Arms is okay by me, although it gets pretty loud there at times. O'Flaherty's Irish Pub, down the street and around the corner from Britannia Arms, is a bit more intimate for chatting and talking shit.

Dood, throw together a site with some sort of a signup page so we can see how many people are coming. This way if we end up with 30 people it may make sense to relocate to a place/bar/pub where all can mingle comfortably.

Last time we tried this we met at The Ramp in the city. The most glaring mistake we made was the fact that we did not provide for a way to identify the peeps who were showing up. So unless you knew someone already, one ended up walking around looking clueless among the happy drunks. Lars drove up from SC then left cause he could not find anyone he could recognize. So this time there should be a sign, flag, whatever - a way to ID the get together.

And because people may be coming from North, South, and East it may make sense to find a more central place ? maybe somewhere on the Peninsula (i.e. Mountain View, Palo Alto, etc.)

Bump for the Bay Area morning maniacs...

I'm assuming that the gathering, if it were to become a monthly/quarterly event, would move around from city to city throughout the Bay Area with various folks from each locale choosing the location and coordinating things. It doesn't have to be too formal.

Since PhpSlave came up with the idea, perhaps he can organize the first one (if it's in the South Bay, I can help if needed).

One suggestion might be South First Billiards, since we could reserve the upstairs pool area, making it easy for everyone to find (plus I could hustle you suckas, LOL).

Make it so...

sorry my replies are so far apart, to much work, bah....

Organization has never been a strong suite with me, So sounds as if everyone is up for a night of drinking in down town San Jose, except for the one guy who wants someone in San Fran to FedEx some Chinese food. I hear that place is really good, send me some too.

How soon would everyone want to get together, how about the 22nd of this month?

O'Flaherty's Irish Pub, sounds like a winner to me, we could always stroll over and hit the Billiards tables (as everyone plays better after a few drinks anyway) or see where the night takes everyone.

This sound like a plan?
