Dog owners: I have a question.

    Dog owners: I have a question.

    The other day I was at the dog park and noticed my dog, and a couple others that seemed attracted to one small patch of grass that they each went to and rolled over, then wiggled their bodies all over.

    I went to investigate, but saw nothing out of the ordinary besides the fact that several dogs all wanted to rub themselves over this small patch.

    What might cause that? Would a female in heat that had previously pissed there cause that reaction? It is the only thing I can think of.

          If there was a dead animal there then they will do it or anything really stinky. I bought a guide book for my two beagles and it said that certain dogs like to roll themselves in stinky things. I found my dogs rolling on a dead frog one day.

                  Very interesting. My initial fear was that he had gotten a new hobby of rolling around in dog shit, but none was to be found.

                  The dog park is a couple acres, built over an old landfill, so maybe something started rising from our recent rain.

                  When we went out today he found a gopher, but decided he would rather play fetch with it than roll around on it.

                              It is a nasty habit both the eating and the rolling.

I plan on getting there early enough to do breakfast at the Buena Vista, before heading over to Ad Tech. Then there is a little get-together at The Shields at 6 (I might be a little late for that as I need to get my fish and chips with a Guinness fix at Edinburgh Castle first).

                                                                                      I plan on driving home after The Shields . . . unless I get lucky.

                                                                                                                                              Seems the researcher watching this wolf pack saw them roll in dead fish on the beach every evening, then go off into the woods. Took them awhile to figure out, but it turns out they were masking their scent with that of the fish, in essence, to trick the deer into thinking it was only dead fish stalking them lol

Dogs love to roll in all of that. BTW...there are tons of those patches at that park. ;) Ours used to walk about 10 ft. then flop down and roll.
