i'd recommend making or buy a habitrail for the little fellas! i don't know what they eat though, i've had ferrets before so i'd imagine they might have similar diets but i don't want to give any wrong advice there. if you don't get or build a habitrail you'll end up with squirrels pooping in your shoes and chewing up your toilet paper rolls.  good luck!
