yeah im well aware that gas is short for gasoline, but that doesnt change the fact that when someone calls something gas they are generally refering to something being gaseous, and as a result the fact that you call it gas annoys me.
i never said you were wrong to call it gas, i just said that i dont like it

I do not think most people hate us as Americans. They seem to hate our government, which many Americans themselves do not even like. You also have to realize that the US is still a young country when compared to many other countries.Comment

Well I think a lot of people on here are sensitive to any topic on the US. They take it personally and they should not. Our government is pretty fucked up right now. Like I said it is also a pretty young country, so we still have a lot of learning and growing to do. In time I think it will balance out.Comment

I noticed this ... really only in the US so far - and it was only with a relatively small group of people who always seemed to have a need to defend something. Never ever seen it elsewhere - in fact, the opposite - folks would moan and whine about "the establishment" and were never "sensitive" to this.
I'm originally from the EU (tho live on this side of the Atlantic) - there would be no hesitation in criticism of some politician or whatever - and I've got no objection to the world joining in *lol* - especially if they deserved it!!
But otherwise.. have a fair number of good friends in the US and got great respect for a couple in particular. When you have folks like Ryan behaving this way - I kinda feel bad for normal people and friends there.
Would take too long to explain... but you get to know folks from other countries - they may be poor or wealthy, but they are not "hateful" - they would be shocked to see GFY.
Bottom line... and only my - does not matter where people come from. They have their own culture and are really no different to us - and (unless there is a reason otherwise) - they should be given respect. Na.. don't actually know *anyone* to would ever say they "hate" the folks in the states - sounds more myth than fact

I do NOT hate it. I am glad I was born and raised here. With that said, I moved out of the USA because I don't like living here now that I can afford to live somewhere else. But that does not mean I do not like my country.

America is a pretty broad term... North America? South America? United States Of America?

The poll is silly Sticky - it's a blinkered view of what *you* think - and from two angles "love" or "hate" - it's like saying "you are with us or you are not" and no shades of grey. That shows a very limited mental capacity. Even the thread title is *your* warp - "Do you hate America?" That is *your* excuse how to "hate" and attempt to deride others with an opposing view - and not just about "America".
Very few people on this planet "hate" any country (mainly the immature and mentally deficient) - most have a life and better things to think about. Every country has good, bad and .. well "indifferent" aspects.
If there is a desire to be "talked about" - you will get all shades of opinion - because you live in a country which appears to attract attention by it's actions/conduct and raise some controversy - that does not mean people "hate" that country. Do you hear webmasters from other nations ranting on about their countries and rushing to defend with one-liner banalities????
