SpunkyCash.com - Caught Stealing......

I have a couple dozen websites that I own and use specifically for casting talent for my clients. I have a nice little form that I designed for the girls to fill out, attach a few pics and submit to me. Apperently the good folks at SpunkyCash saw one of my websites and decided to copy the submission form from my website and paste it into one of their websites that they use for casting. And then they decided to put a copyright at the bottom of the page "after" stealing it from me. When I called them on it...they said.... "its a form.. wow .. big fucking deal.. u made it sound like we stole a whole website.. i'll re-arrange the text if i must." And then he said..."you dont own the copyright to forms.. "

So I just got to wondering.....it's not OK to steal a whole website but it is OK to steal the design of the submission form and the copy that accompanied that submission form?

Hey SpunkyCash - how about designing your own shit in the future and not steal shit from others? Anybody with half a brain cell could have designed that form - you didn't have to steal mine

you know i would have been alot nicer about it if u hadnt started by emailing me calling me a prick and an asshole an what not

i hired a designer to make the site, i told u that from the beginning, i didnt know they had copied it, i said i would re-arrange the text, but its a form, what seriously can u change on it??

this looks like it will be short lived but even it is just a form it was Dean's form. Sometimes if you ask first people will let you use it. Hard to ask after you were caught.

Hmmm - I'm not that worked up about this. Dude stole a siimple design and my copy and then he wanted to tell me that it was ok for them to steal it cause it was just a form and a form isn't copyrightable. I just thought other people should know that Spunky thought it was ok to steal peoples work and use it on his website ... that's all.

It was a simple "but efficient" form and along with the form was some copy that I wrote. These guys lifted the form "and" all the copy that went with it. And yes....I have had people ask if they could use the form and I have always said sure....no problem and thanks for asking. It's not anything that couldn't be designed by any webmaster with even the smallest amount of html skills. Hey, if I can design it - anyone can

Yo - I dont' mean to be harsh! I'm really the nicest most easy going guy you'll ever meet and I always treat people with respect. But I hate it when people fuck with me. I work hard to make a buck in this industry and it pisses me off when I see someone like Spunky use some stolen shit on his website. It doesn't matter if it's a form or not.....the bottom line is that it was a stole form, stolen copy and it was put on Spunkys website and then they put a copyright at the bottom of the page like it was their design??? I never remember the code for forms so I usually copy my own, which was copied from somewhere else. I do change the formatting and text though of course.

Punker - as I've already stated numerous times in this thread...it was more than just the form. I spent hours designing the form, the copy that went with the form and the layout of the form so that it was pleasing to the eye and so that it worked properly. I'm not a designer so this was no easy task for me. When I see that my whole creation copied and reproduced on someone elses site...yes, that tends to piss me off a bit. And then when I question them about it and they tell me that its' ok that they stole it because it's just a form - that pisses me off even more.

How many times a week do you see someone here that runs a program complaining about stolen content? I see all the time. I would consider the layout/design of the form that I created as well as the copy that went along with it "my content". And I found it reproduced on your website without my knowledge or approval. I don't have anything to be a little pissed about? Come on already..........
