You went to the matresses for that one Minte, as any good L-car fan should.Originally posted by MinteI hope you don't mind I used that Sinatra quote..
But when we start really comparing cars to women it was time to pull out the heavy artillery.

Don't forget that Frank was a Mafia guy. I'm sure that Mafia people drive Lamborghinis more than Ferraris.Originally posted by MinteI know you can't be talking about the 360! That car had as much passion as my ML350 with better hips.
Maybe an F40,but I've never had the pleasure of driving one.
I read this quote on one of the Lambo boards
People that want to be someone drive a Ferrari.People that are someone drive a Lamborghini. Frank SinatraComment

I always thought that the 360 was an ugly piece of ****. Italians, and I am damn serious about this, think that Lamborghini are cars for butchers, pimps, and people that won the lottery, and want to show off. Frank, if I'm not mistaken, had a Lamborghini Miura in his Penthouse, just to hear the engine. You know what, the Miura was a deadly car, but a dream, and it's still in my dream car list, even if the front takes off at high speed. If Italians think that Lamborghini is crap, and they make those cars, and on top of that, they're known to have a tiiiiinnnnyyyyy bit more taste than Americans, and Arabs, maybe you should listen more. There's a reason for that. Italians love good cars, that's why they could care less about Lamborghinis. They don't love fakes, they might like them, but not love them. They have so many originals, that they cannot love fakes. America does not have history, so they try to copy Italy's good taste, and then it's disaster. Tuscan Villas that would send you straight to jail in Italy for insulting good taste. Italian food that poisons you, and the list goes on, and on. Your perception of good things, and good taste is light years from what the real thing is. That's why Lamborghini lives in America, and In the Arab Countries (Notoriously ambassadors of good taste too). There's things that some countries just don't have. Italy does not have patriotism, for example, and they could use some. They're not organized, and they need a lot of that, etc. But America does not have a clue about good taste (Except New York, and a few other places, and people that actually left the country, not to just go on a cruise). Trust me, Italians don't give a rat about Lamborghini.Originally posted by MinteI know you can't be talking about the 360! That car had as much passion as my ML350 with better hips.

I've been to Italy several times. It's really not that impressive of a country. The fact that it is old doesn't make it anything more than old.All this being said,it really doesn't matter one iota what the Italians think of any car make. They liked Mussolini until it was apparent they were going to lose WW2.Originally posted by METStaffI always thought that the 360 was an ugly piece of ****. I'm from Wisconsin so I clearly don't have any taste. However,I do know what I like and am able to build my own opinions from my own life experiences.
And this time my life experiences lead me to get a Lamborghini, maybe next time Ferrari will have something that delivers what I demand.Or maybe I'll just bite the bullet and get a CGT..But for now,I'm a very enthusiastic Lambo/Porsche/BMW/Mercedes...and Mini..owner.You might not be as anonymous as you think you are.Comment

Gee, I could start a whole new thread on this...I better shut up. Italy not impressive. Good Lord! It's like saying that history is worth nothing. Did you actually visit a museum, or the Vatican? Have you been to Venice, or the heart of Tuscany? Just think of how many (Supposedly, or not) Italian things you eat, wear, live in, drive. Hey, I have a mini too, and a ... too, etc. Where have you been in Italy? Just out of curiosity. Italy is a mess, but not getting spiritually kidnapped by it, totally fascinated, is something I really never heard before. Maybe you're not interested in Italy's mind blowing good things. I swear, this is the 1st time I hear this. You know, there's some history lessons that a lot of people could use nowadays. There's a lot of people that should read Machiavelli's "Il Principe", and a lot of people could use a sprinkle of basic culture, not only cash devotion. Remember, history repeats itself... I would have so many things to write to you, that I would not even really know where to start. It's a pity that you did not find one of the World's Mothers interesting. Who knows, maybe you went on one of those scam all inclusive tours, you know, like those people that think that when they've seen New York, or LA, they know what America is. Well, after all, as you know, Europeans have their own idea of America, which is not necessarily reflecting the whole truth (At least not 49% of American's thoughts).Originally posted by MinteI've been to Italy several times. It's really not that impressive of a country. The fact that it is old doesn't make it anything more than old.All this being said,it really doesn't matter one iota what the Italians think of any car make. They liked Mussolini until it was apparent they were going to lose WW2.

P.S. I just went to Colorado, and met a bunch of super cool real Cowboys, form all over the country. They're leaving the country, and relocating to, I'm serious, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain. Wow, Cowboys leaving the county, because they just cannot take it anymore! Impressive. You know, they're not rich, so I guess they don't count much here, and they make a leaving with cows, horses, and nature, but they're quite open minded, and they're very, very, very wise people. That's the America that i love so much.Originally posted by MinteI've been to Italy several times. It's really not that impressive of a country. The fact that it is old doesn't make it anything more than old.All this being said,it really doesn't matter one iota what the Italians think of any car make. They liked Mussolini until it was apparent they were going to lose WW2.

I know they don's qualify to be GFY cool, because they have zero dollars, and do not have cool cars, but I thought I could mention them. Maybe someone will identify with them.
By the way, don't forget where the thread comes from: Fuck the F430. Real Men Drive The Gallardo SE...
Who could resist this??? I couldn't. That's why I'm here. Bad taste all the way.Last edited by METStaff; 10-09-2005, 06:51 PM.Comment

It wasn't on a tour..I backpacked through Europe the first time(1974).Took a few trains but mostly hitched. The second visit to Italy I did with substantial funds and it was a much higher end trip.
You must be in sales..I recognize the concept.
If you can't wow them with the facts...blind them with bullshit.
I was in sales for many years.

Same with the big drift I just did in my S2000 tonight in the rain
