Mercedes Benz CLS55 AMG or BMW M5?

Down to my last 2 choices for my new car.... which would you choose?

I love the elegance of the benz, however I love the aggressiveness of the M5, I cant choose.. Both the same price.

I think I may end up with the Benz. Not 100% sure yet though.

i think i would go for the m5.

i dont see any agressiveness on BMW design, aside the engine n' car specs, the look is bad the least to say. Where's the good old bmw design style.....

I think it looks pretty nice. It looks a lot more aggressive than the benz, but both are holding 500HP so either way,....

M5 is a beast...like King Kong...that sort of beast.
CLS55 AMG is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

looks wise the CLS wins....Driving wise the M5 wins.

You can't really compare the two.

The E55 AMG is Mercedes' answer to the M5

Tough call.But i'd probably end up going with the BMW only because the MB service here is terrible.I have an ML350 and it has been a pain in the ass for the little it's actually driven.I still am NOT a fan of Bangles designs,but I didn't like the E46 when it first came out either.And now I have an M3.

I think you will get way more looks in the Mercedes as the BMW looks like every other 5 series out there.

However if it was my decision I would go for the M5 all the way

the benz is a looker... but you will be dissapointed in term of preformace if you dont go with the m5.

I have driven both... like I said, M5 is tougher and meaner, Benz still hauls friggin ass, but is much nicer. Its a really tough choice. Im not asking cuz i want to drive what GFY wants to drive. I know people raise good points that help me finalize my decision.

tough choice, depense on what you want...

M5 - pure performance, best handling, v10 f1 engine with high redline
CLS - pure luxury, heavy car, shit handling, more pimp

if you love to drive, and love performance then get M5
if you just like to relax, don't care about handling and want more looks get CLS

btw, i saw a video how new M5 walked e55amg, and I believe cls is slower then e55amg... also don't forget that bmw more reliable then benz, either way good luck, i'm sure you'll be happy with either one

The odds of you getting an M5 is very slim unless you pay $25k over sticker.

The allocation for all M5's for each dealership is 2 per month for the next 12 months.

I'm number 38 for the M5 waiting list and number 8 on the M6 list.

CLS55 is a E55 with a new body

CLS is essentially an E class with a new body on it. Everything underneath is the same.

M5 is totally new technology.

I would buy the M5 only for that "m" button. It's an ordinary sedan until you press that button. I suggest you search for "topgear test of the M5" on a torrentsite and check it out... You'll buy one of those after seeing that. One of the most advanced cars of the moment (besided the F430)

I think both totally blow now.... the new benz looks like a damm banana. and the bimmer is , a bimmer, a future rusting heap in a field. I'm more and more a classic car guy... I USED to have porsches but since then , I want a shelby 69 gt-500 (pricing out now near a 250k according to auction houses.) later
