i don't think the majority i've worked with have been "abused" per se.

but i do know than MANY come from broken homes (divorces, single parent upbringing, etc) with the predominate situation being lack of father figure.

you can analyze that any way you want, but i have seen it a lot.

i would say it like this.... the harder the content... the bigger the chance that the woman has been abused or traumatized in some major way.

What about gay male models who take it up the poop chute with any object they can find?!?!? Would you say the same thing about THEM?

As far as women being abused, I'm a webmaster and have never been content. However, I'm friends with female webmasters/webmistresses (whatever u want to call us ) that shoot their own content with a boyfriend/husband/ or trusted acquaintance and run their sites independent of a company and own their sites themselves. These ladies, in my experiences, are well-adjusted, intelligent, and have normal loving parents.

HOWEVER....that being said....I've known a few models that work for different companies and they seem to be a mixture of both. Some of them are just confident and proud of their bodies and have no sort of abuse in their pasts and are offended at the stereotype that if they are allowing pictures of themselves nude to be put online, there must be something wrong with them. A few of them though were treated wrongly as they were growing up and do act as though it has affected them negatively and driven them into the adult world. They usually drink alcohol or take drugs to numb the feeling so that they can take pictures. They feel like that is all they can do in the world. SAD...

BUT ALL IN ALL the majority of them just seem to be exhibitionists and proud of their bodies and aren't shy. Yes, there are some that had bad experiences and it has affected them negatively. All I can say is I hope that the ladies who are in this industry because they feel they aren't good for being anything more than content need to get out of the field. Because if you don't enjoy doing it, then you shouldn't be doing it at all. I had a job I absolutely hated and I moved on. ........just my

Statistically speaking from a psychological standpoint in studies that have been done...
a majority of those in the adult industry have had SOME type of contact with abuse, whether it be sexual, or otherwise.
When I find the study (I remember reading it a while back) I'll post the exact numbers.
I wouldn't say all girls in this industry are abused..some just like sex, and the attention, or just like it, period. I don't judge. Speaking from the ones that I know, they have been abused and just are doing what seems to come naturally..using sex as a 'weapon' to get what they want (ie: Money, love, etc)- but it also is a self esteem issue as well. I do it because I'm a ham and I love the camera. I also love showing off..I will never have sex on cam or anything like that- but I love posing and playboy style nudity- it's an art to me more than JOM. The human body is an artform to me..not a piece of flesh to be fucked or fondled for the sake of some silly pleasure. Pleasure is great...but the stuff I like to shoot is mainly for art. Lord knows, I've taken some crappy pics and learned throughout the years, but now I have more of an idea of what I want...we live and learn, all of us.
There are alot of factors, and I really don't want to get into them right now. I'm not being paid 75.00 an hour...

And, I don't want to offend anyone in the industry as this OBVIOUSLY does not apply to everyone.

I think a lot of girls are voyeuristic, take a look at the Lake Mead stuff and Mardi Gras stuff. Hell, I once got a 70 year old to show her tits in downtown Honolulu last year for Mardi Gras. I posted the video, I'll have to post it again, its funny.

I knew when I read the title to this thread that all the talent on the board would come in and try to say the obvious wasn't true.

Come on, we all know the obvious. Most talent is fucked in the head. I'd say the percentage which got fucked by daddy or had just a completely fucked up childhood would be around 80 percent.

the relevance of which job they end up in is almost irrelevant, whereas the importance of who knows/realises/preys upon these women's insecurities is much more pertinent.

You make a good point, maybe this is more accurate way of putting it, instead of saying that most have been abused, I would say most have had fathers who have been absent, or neglected them, or abused them.

How often do you come across a pornstar where her father was always there for her and treated her good ALL her life? I would bet not often.

Well you see the only reason why I asked the question was because my friend was telling me about a study a few years back that showed that girls in the adult industry as a whole had much higher percentages of abuse.

He said he read it in an article and couldnt remember alot of details, but still I think that sounds reasonable to me that this would be the case.

The ratio in this industry would be way higher vs other fields.

In my experience there are a few distinct different categories of female talent:

About 10% of them are extremely reliable, responsible, level headed people. For example we just did some work with Katja Kassin and she is an amazing person.

About 20% of them are average people who wind up trying something wild for a short time.

About 30% of them are genuine nymphos who really love having sex - and that is the main reason they are fucking on camera. They range from dumb to smart. And the reasons they are so sexually active is probably as varied as you could imagine.

About 40% of them are really pretty nutso. They're nutty and a good percentage of them may have gotten that way from sexual abuse.

So I would guess that maybe 15-20% of women in porn have some sexual abuse in their formative past. That's a complete guess based on a small sample of experience.

1 in 4 girls are sexually abused -- across the board

I was talent, and I was abused (totally did all the emotional work to get through it in my late teens)... but I don't think they really have much to do with each other.

I got into porn in my 20's because it was an easy way to make large sums of money in a short periods of time, which allowed me to work on building my own business. And it was fun -- I got to live out a variety of my sexual fantasies AND get paid for it! Plus, I got to share my brand of sexuality with the world!

All you folks have been hearing so many horror stories, you think all talent is somehow coerced into performing because they have some huge issue... get your heads outta your asses -- it's about exhibitionists and voyeurs... and money!

Do you think that the majority of girls involved in the Porn industry(in front of the camera) have been sexually/physically abused as kids?

I know that all say they love their job, but really, how many have emotional issues because they were abused as kids and are now acting out?
I've asked this question numerous times with talent in the industry and have found out the percentages are the same no matter what industry from porn to shoe sales.

Then all the anthropology classes I took in college answered the question for me:

Human females are naturally promiscuous that's why we have laws and cultural restraints.

In the wild, the two large primates, humans and chimpanzees have the same behavior. Chimp females will breed with anything that can get hard and so will human females.

That's why we're called HO' Mo' Sapiens...

All you folks have been hearing so many horror stories, you think all talent is somehow coerced into performing because they have some huge issue... get your heads outta your asses -- it's about exhibitionists and voyeurs... and money!
