    What causes you to change from love to hate for someone?

    curious - like to know your thoughts on this.


    watching a couple here i've known for years - she still loves him but i can tell he's gone from love to hate or something like it. little things she does piss him off when they should be the quirks that make you love someone - know what I mean?


    so what makes someone go from love to hate?

      I don't personally think it's a matter of small quirks, or the pair was ill-suited together from the get-go.

      I don't think I could hate my wife over anything small no matter how 'annoying', probably if she misuses my trust or cheats me can lead to hate..but something small, I doubt it.

                  I've always said love and hate the same emotion 5 minutes apart.

                  The same fuel that makes love burn so strong also can fire up the hate. If you feel so strongly about someone that you love them, then whatever it is in them that makes you love them can also bring you to hate them. I may never be that way, the potential is there.

                                  Interesting subject, some would argue that the opposite feeling to love is "indifference".........so if you do not love someone you are indifferent to them. Hate is an entirely different emotion, usually generated by an event related to love, i.e. jealousy, betrayal, hurt.
