    glossy vs matte laptop screens?

I'm in the process of purchasing a new Macbook Pro and am trying to decide whether to go for the glossy widescreen display or the matte display.

    What are your opinions?

I don't think I've ever seen a glossy screen before. Are the colors more vibrant? What else?

I just bought a new laptop and although the glossy looks really great in ideal lighting conditions, it's just too reflective otherwise (aka 75% of the time for me). I went with the matte.

well Apple argues that the glossy has more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, but other say that they tend to have more reflectiveness and may even be more susceptible (sp?) to scratches or dead pixels

Yes, the colors are more vibrant but it's also really reflective - take a look at this:

I couldn't stand the reflectiveness of glossy.

I love glossy, but in low, or super-high light conditions, it's really a boon.

Even with the reflection, now, from the overhead lights, I can see the wall behind me.
