    Havalina...

When you were young you were the king of carrot flowers
And how you built a tower tumbling through the trees
In holy rattlesnakes that fell all around your feet

And your mom would stick a fork right into daddy's shoulder
And your dad would throw the garbage all across the floor
As we would lay and learn what each other's bodies were for

And this is the room one afternoon I knew I could love you
And from above you how I sank into your soul
Into that secret place where no one dares to go

And your mom would sink until she was no longer speaking
And dad would dream of all the different ways to die
Each one a little more than he could dare to try

It's quite pleasing to know someone knows of NMH on GFY.

    Cheers pal.

Saw your sig and couldn't let it pass ;) .. it's rare enough to find NMH fans anywhere let alone here. That is one of my favourite albums of all time... I've got avery island as well.

Yeah, I'm a big fan too. I pretty much own every single thing Jeff Mangum did in his few years in the world of music. I'm very surprised and pleased to know that in this morally abandoned, classless cesspool that is GFY, someone appreciates good art. That's why I put it in my sig, just to see if it'll ring anyones bell.

Are you into any of the other Elephant 6 bands? OTC? The Apples?

Fuck yeah, finding Elephant 6 was like opening a door at the back of the second hand cd shop that lead to a room full of great and previously unkown music. The Apples in Stereo kick so much ass... Beulah, OTC and to a lesser extent Elf Power... man i really need to lay down a few hundred more on some of the other bands there and a couple of albums im missing...

OTC reformed and went on a tour of sorts. They came to NYC in august with like the entire E6 entourage. All members of NMH, OTC, like everyone except laura carter and rob schneider.

Anways the show was blissful and towards the end they dragged out a tearful Jeff Mangum to sing on 'I Have Been Floated' and then they all did a huge group hug and started bodyslamming each other.

The place went apeshit when they realized mangum's in the house. The dude hasn't performed since 1998, except for a one acoustic gig he did in new zealand that i recently got my hands on. Historical night

Fuck.. that sounds AWESOME. I very rarely get to see my favourite OS bands as they don't really have the fan base in Australia to travel... If i had known about the acoustic gig i might have had to get on a plane to NZ though lol. I have to do that for almost any band at any rate - I moved about 900km away from Sydney which is where any bands really go if they come here. Unless they do as pavement did the first time they came out and they tour as part of a festival that goes through all the cities and not just the southern ones.
But even then festivals piss me off. Pay for 20 bands you hate to see one band you love.

Sucks that you guys don't get good shows =/

I've uploaded my copy of the last performance of NMH material. It's just Jeff accompanied by Laura Carter of Elf Power on a few songs. The last song was a cover of John Lennon's Mother by Jeff and Chris Nox of the Tall Dwarfs, whom organized this secret gig (Chris was also performing that night In august was telling you about, He tried to get him to come out earlier but he wouldn't).

Anyways, here it is, I hope you enjoy it.
