Living abroad I've also been humbled to realize the U.S. isn't what all of us Americans are brought up believing it is, or once was. It's amazing what a refreshing take on reality you get living outside the U.S.
There is no doubt that Bush and his administration shames America and it's a hard time for us all right now... but nothing runs smoothly all the time and I'm a firm believer that what has been wronged, will be made right by us again, even if it takes us generations to do it. The last think Americans want America to become is another Russia, Germany (past tense) or China.

William Rehnquist had NO judiciary experience and was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1972. He seemed to do pretty well as Chief Justice....
