ok, here's my idea of the logo.. since it's for travellers guide to alternative hotels, watering holes and restaurants etc..
i made a road that signifies the "way" and building for the hotels, restaurants, establishments, etc...
logo is in vector format so it can be scalable infinetely without losing it's quality.. marketing materials won't be a prob also coz i made an rgb version (full color), grayscale (1 color silk screen printing) and 1 color (flat color purposes)

Forgive the way it's arranged but im a little new to this, i liked all these versions.
You said you wanted a logo that would appeal to 35+ travel/business types. Well im neither 35 nor do i travel often, but i figured those types of people would like something that seemed soild yet soft and wasnt too busy.
They're vectors so I can make any changes you like.Comment

Platinum Pimp still leads the way in my opinion. I'm sure if he created a 2.0 version or maybe even a 1.5 version of that same design using some of your suggestions Raceman it would be perfect.
AdultRMX that is fucking awesome but it could be afford to be a little less "busy". Your work really does amaze me though. I'll definately have to approach you for some future mainstream work. I actually have the perfect project with you in mind.
theS2O looks great. I know the swiggly lines fits your design idea. But your top left font/color scheme would look great if you straightened out and cleaned up the graphic for the purposes of the target audience...again I do see what your trying to do though.

OK guys, Ive copied all the designs over to the powers that be as they have been posted, I will have a meeting with them Monday afternoon GMT and get you some feedback so I can post thier thoughts.
So far there are one or two that are liked, buts its better that I go chat with them so i can give honest thoughts back.
There have only been 7 entrants so far, some have done a few variations but in general just 7 concepts.
I'd like to also thank young for his/her input as well at this stage and the deadline date of the 5th Oct will be extended.
For your intel, the CEO of this venture has been thinking of soing this deal for a long time and he himself owns a pretty large travel org, as stated before the target market is the more affulent traveller, someone who has been there seen it done it and is always looking for that "fine dining report" or maybe "a superb hotel none of us ordinary folk" have ever heard of.
The company although new is well backed and already has a very strong client base to dig into. The image I would say has to be a little upmarket.
I will come back to you all probably Tuesday a.m. as its the wifes birthday tomorrow night and i'm taking her to see a show.
