There were about 3 tables left when my pre-flop short-stacked all-in of 3,500 wasn't enough to scare away the gal on the big blind, holding a 3-7 off-suit. /shrug
My pocket 2's were looking good after the cards were turned up, but not so great after a 7 appeared on the flop.
Irony of it all was, the gal that took me out was the same gal that I had saved a couple of hours earlier on what I believe was an all-in hand for her when I was the only one at the table (including her) that happened to notice she had a 10 to the Ace straight while the dealer was declaring another guy the winner with 2 pair. After pointing out that fact, all was well, and I reckon my fate was sealed.
She had a roll of luck like few I've ever seen in the game.... I mean,. who puts 10 times their investment in the pot to protect a 3-7 off suit?!?
Oh well... it was a good time, none-the-less. :-D
I wasn't able to stick around, though... so I'm still wondering who the hell won, and what did the top prize end up being?
