When a sponser collects processing fee from us

I find this to be the lowest of the low.
I small sponsor sends me checks and cuts $2.00 for processing fee? what? Is he CCbill all of a sudden? Why do you rip off your affiliates? Looks like small change, but every time he sends a check and he charges $2.00 per 1000 affiliates that starts to be some good money.
What pisses me off that this is not a processing company, but rather his own fucking checks? What do you think? This guy charges us money for him to sit on his ass and write checks.

Look at the $ per click and include those fees. Some of the criminals running programs have shitty credit and banks and are charged fees to send checks.

Postage isn't free if they mail it themselves.

          Some companies use payroll services.

If it is a small sponsor, they might send out 20 checks a month. Not exactly $1000's of dollars, eh?

Epass charges $2 per business transfer, not to mention wire fees.

But yeah, some sponsors are shady as hell and shouldnt be in business in the first pace. Be thankful for the sponsors that do absorb banking fees.

And if you think that's the lowest of the low, you need to go around the block a few more times

We are based in Europe, and will be launching a new nats based program later this year.. We are looking into methods of having US checks mailed to affiliates, and it appears it is going to be quite expensive to do..

Unless we can find a better solution, if an affiliate insists on being paid via check rather than epassporte or similar payment system, we will have to charge some kind of a fee...

Another option would be for us to issue US checks from our UK office, but this would mean it would take approximately a week for US affiliates to receive.

The sponsor is from the USA and I live in the USA. to set down write a check and hand sign it, cost no money, but his own time.

I don't mind the $2 check fees. I like programs that cover the ccbill fees as well. Sucks when you have alot taken out each week off our ccbill check for fees. And I'm talking as an affiliate not paysite owner.

We don't charge fees for checks or Epass, regardless of if the webmaster is domestic or international. Low minimum payout ($25) too. But it does cost us money to send those payments out, ranging from $1 for domestic checks to approximately $3 for Epassporte and international checks payments. We write it off in our cost of doing business. That is our business banking situation. All banks have different policies on business accounts.

Every program does things differently though. Check their terms and hit them up directly. They might be able to waive the fees if you talk with them.

You may not yet understand this but many sponsor program owners time is very valuable, specially if they are still a small to mid sized program that is doing it all themselves.
Many site owners nearly work 24/7 as it is. They need to handle affiliate support, they often need to shoot content, update the site, build new free hosted galleries, edit videos, photoshop pictures, put together promo content zips, put together other promo material, tweak tours and galleries, check stats, look for fraud, promote their own program, and many other tasks.

Now some may rather enjoy the small amount of time they can get off, maybe to relax or just spend some time with others. As it stands most site owners have to do nearly everything already for the affiliate, so why in the hell can they not charge a very small per check fee to use up even more of their time?

You must be kidding me, right? As a guy that been in this business long before most of you were born, I can tell you this, every business and mine too takes time to run, and no one pays me for my vacations, to my 5000 SQF house, or my Porsche. I made it myself without fucking out anyone including my smallest customer. I don't give a fuck about the $2. But most of the affiliates make their money from commissions only. Who pays for their time to relax? I think it?s the principal of trying to do anything within the power to rip off people. I don?t care how small the sponsor is, he has to do things right and not wrong. As I said, I have been long enough in this biz, way before the Internet...and for some reason this business always attracted shady people and characters that will try to rip off the others. Most of them don't survive for the long run...kind of Karma

As far as Im concerned if you charge your affiliates for processing or payouts you are ripping them off if you are based in the US or under US tax laws. Its all a writeoff for biz expenses - including if you hire someone to do it for you - dont let these aff owners fool you into thinking it costs them a dime. Ive done payroll for my own companies for as long as I can remember (and used to have a company do it for me when I wa too busy) and wrote every cent off including bank fees and mailing costs.

we charge $0 for processing. even with epass payments we absorb the $2 fee. but a company has the right to charge a payment processing fee if they wish. it's their business. don't send to them if you don't agree with what they're doing. it's as simple as that.

Difference of opinion. You think they are fucking you, when they are not. Most sponsors, if not all, will say right on the goddamn signup page if there is a fee.

                                No surprise or mystery.

You're not forced to promote any program you don't want to.

You make a choice. 1000's of programs to promote.

If you have alot of free time, start a new thread on your history in online adult. Would love to read it. If you're talking about pre online adult ventures, that would be a fun read too. But don't make the mistake of assuming that others weren't around in the days of the loops and Ruben Sturman.
