lol they keep showing this clip on cnn , of some lady saying "they are raping babies up in there " ( referring to the stadium ), she doesn't look like the most valid source of information.. cnn is now calling the stories "urban myth"

I wonder why they dont just come out and tell people what happened .. Did they actually recover childrens bodies ? rape victims or not ?

Yup, that # was MASSIVE and I can't think of anything that tops it. Not in the US anyways.

Cmon now. When your are exhausted, hot, starving and just lost everything you own, isn't the first thing you think about is raping some babies?

Crazy how stuff like that spread like wild fire.

                    Howling laughta

That about sums it up. The news, and media all know little about history. Not just U.S. history, but history in general.

Much like Fox News calling the war on terror WWIII and hoping they would get that to stick. Never did. Never will. Anyone who knows their history will never agree. One country's agenda on 'terror' is not an entire world at war. Sorry Fox News, doesn't work that way just because O'Reilly said it, and the minions parrot it.

N.O.'s was a tragic to be sure. But we have had a number of things that rank up there. Everything is about sensationalism now. Since few people know their history, everything is about 'the worst ever' blah blah. 9-11, the hurricane, and so forth. Pick just about any subject, and they will claim whatever is going on now is the most, worst, (insert the bad, oohh the boogie man's coming, chicken little, sky's falling, terrorism, they hate us for our freedom, buzz word, scandal-gate, hot button phrase of the day).

There were 20 police and a bunch of national Guard in the superdome and convention center as well as food and water for 20,000 people the entire time.

There were no rapes but there was one attempted and he got arrested.

There were no murders but one guy got stabbed.

Nobody was eating dead people like some of the press reported.

They found 10 dead bodies and they were:

1 jumper who jumped from the 3rd story the night of the storm
4 bodies found outside the superdome with gun shots (gang members)
1 who died from a drug overdose
4 elderly people who had heart attacks

The reason all those people were freeking out was because most black people
can't swim and seeing all that water all around them put them over the edge.

I'm not saying this as a racial comment because they interviewed many in
Houston and alot of them said this.

They even have 4 cruise ships sitting empty down there that the Gov't paid for 6 months and nobody wants to go stay on the ships because they don't like water.

I think they are going to use the ships to house workers for reconstruction and I
read that thye are lining up thousands of Mexicans to come and to do the work.

Katrina's total death toll won't be known for a long long time.. If ever. And Katrina did alot more damage than killing people. There is much more devastation and homeless from Katrina than Rita (and likely dead).
