Or could it be that without evil, good would be a meaningless concept? Similarly if there is a reward for being good, it isn't unreasonable for there to be a punishment for being bad.

No comment on the validity or otherwise of anyone's beliefs... I just find it easier to understand someone believing in heaven and hell, than in heaven alone.

Anyone who supports a system that has murdered as many innocents as religion has should be an expert on hell.

A religion that shielded child molesters, burned people at the stake, killed millions of South Americans for profit, refuses to condone the use condoms, denies mans basic instinct to reproduce, supported the Nazi party and takes money from the poor should have people at the top who know where they are going.

If he's left trying to sell his shop by telling us if we don't buy we will go to hell he's clutching at straws.
