    Bush offers Pentagon as 'lead agency' in disasters

    Amazing... instead of fixing FEMA, he is going to try to get the juridiction using military ... even if it is not permitted now ...
    So what! change the law of the land ...I'm George Bush, your leader against the terrorists ....

    That would require a change of law, since the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 forbids the military from performing civilian law enforcement duties. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld is investigating possible reforms to the act, which Pentagon officials consider archaic.
    The remarks came 10 days after the president first floated the idea during an address to the nation from New Orleans, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Having been sharply criticized for the federal government's slow response to the storm, Mr. Bush called for increased powers for the White House and Pentagon.

                                      Funny how FEMA's odd and unexusable delayed response turned out to be the main argument for taking a shot at the Posse Comitatus Act... Funnier to see some americans thinking.. no big deal.. putting their blind thrust in Bush and his "crazies in the basement" aka Neocons... Somehow they get the idea that whoever lead their country CAN'T be dangerous wackos... That can only happen in Germany, Russia.... or Venezuella.. lol I'll bump this thread in 1 year...
