    Good idea or bad idea?

I never did it and dont know if its a mistake or not. But I bet the prices are lower than retail on ebay.

Anyone here bought a laptop on ebay?

I've purchased around 5... All work fine and I'm using one as we speak.

My friend just got FUCKED buying a high-end computer on ebay... ($7k video editing workhorse). I told him to buy it from a real reseller not just "some dude" but he didn't listen. The package was shipped promptly, and arrived. Except it was filled with bags of sand, no computer. Neither ebay, paypal, his bank, the police or the fbi are doing anything to help him get his $7k back. He's fucked.

they did EXACTLY the same here in Holland with electronics and also with concerttickets. They caught one guy who even had the local post costume and all, it was POD all.

Id be very very careful, ask him to use escrow your costs even.
