so, i never attempted blogging, but i';m gonna try.. i'm so used to html/dhtml/xhtml, css, etc & build regular sites, but never ever did a blpg, but i'm gonna give it a shot & see what it's all about.. any idea's tips resources recommended.. i'm right now downloading b2evolution.. what else would i need??

First off, don't use your own blogging software, not yet. That's step 3 or so.
Go to Blogger.com OR livejournal.com and sign up. Start using it as a online journal. Make friends. Post thoughts and feelings. Get used to the way the interactions work. Read other people's journals. Join communities.
Step two is when you take the content of your LJ or Blogger ID and put them on your website. That can be done with java, direct HTML, PHP, or cgi-bin. Keep going. Do this for about a year or so.
Then you will have enough understanding of blogging and how it works to use b2evolution or WordPress.
