The things I have learned while looking for employment..

    1. There are several great companies hiring.
    2. There are several not so great companies hiring
    3. There are several companies out there with great ideas but no money.
    4. There are several companies out there that have money(or so they say) but don't have a clue.
    5. There is even a company out there that would like you to work for free.
    6. Start ups are a dime a dozen
    7. There are even companies out there that will hire you and THEN check with their "bank manager"/"business partner" to see if they can afford it.

But here is one thing I haven't learned yet...

What the hell ever happened to professionalism? I knew there was a plethora of non business people in this industry but when did it get so out of hand?
I have no siggy and I want no siggy.. damn no I have one again!

First 4 points are kind of normal, not worth the emphasis. However

So true. I wonder why they don't work for free then.

Ahh.. this is also common, but it's not so much because of them beeing unprofesional, it's more a fact that there's at least 2 partners in almost any company out there you see now (very few porn companies owned by 1 person, that are at least midly successfull). And most of the time, these guys don't coordinate with each other. One holds the money, other is in charge of business and is the "work" buddy of them 2. So naturally, you probably spoke with the guy in charge of making the program go, but the guy with the funds (these usually have more power then the "working" partners), said no. And that's it. You weren't regarded as an asset that's worth them getting into an arguement can they afford you or not. Often times, a company loses in these cases, as the "working" partner knows alot more of what is needed for the company then the "financial" partner.

          Professionalism?

          Out the window...

I worked for a software company for 6 years...my boss didn't have a clue, wasn't professional at all...made bad decisions constantly until he finally brought the company down.

The best was when he would shit himself and blame it on rust stains from carpets while "changing a tire"...lol.

All I see in adult these days is an ethos of who can be the flyest pimp rather than the most honest one. A good study in human nature though - LOL, I'm kinda reminded of Lord of the Fly's

                          8. Be your own boss. That way you don't need to piss and moan about what others do.

Funny thing is... not only is it in adult or even online. Most mainstream ebusinesses are the same, as are the brick and mortars all over the country.

Yeup, I see a similar scenario in the UK too with many businesses using any tactic's they think they can get away with to boost their profit margin while our self styled "whiter than white" government is too affraid of upsetting their business buddies to do much about it.

I have seen that as well. That whole discussion just opens a bigger can of worms though.

Most of the people here would have hard time qualifying for a job at McD, and you want professionalism?
