The CCBill/NationalNet Ultimate Final Four Contest IS NOW LIVE!!!

Thanks to everyone who submitted ideas for our Contest for a Contest!! There were many terrific ideas that came out of it, but in the end simplicity was the winner!! When choosing a winner we were forced to think about a number of concerns:

1.) We wanted a contest that was NOT subjective. The "best" video, the "best" slogan, the "best" campaign are all subjective and could lead to someone or some group thinking theirs was better than the winner. Making a contest non-subjective was a paramount concern.

2.) We wanted something that a "true" basketball fan might have a better chance of winning, but those who have no knowledge could also pull it out in the end.

3.) We wanted our winners selected by Sunday, at the latest, giving them plenty of time to plan for their new extended trip to The Phoenix Forum.

4.) We wanted everything to unfold publicly to lessen the chance that someone would think that this was anything less than "on the up and up".

With that in mind, I want to congratulate TondaB for her entry as follows:

"Each participant would select a total number of points for all NCAA games played this weekend. (Thurs - Sunday) Each entry would be timestamped (see in case of a tie below). All entries would need to be done before Midnight Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning. The person or persons, if you wanted to do 4 winners, that was/were the closest without going over wins! If there was a tie you would go by the timestamp, the person that picked that number first wins."

We are only going to make minor changes to her entry as follows:

1.) A "Contestant" will be defined as an original "Nick" (or username) on the board. Only Nicks that were registered prior to March 1, 2007 will be accepted.

2.) Contestants will predict the total number of points of all of the March Madness Games for this weekend. The Sweet16 is Thursday and Friday and the Elite8 is Saturday and Sunday. NOTE: This is a total of 12 college basketball games. For those of you not big fans, just remember that you are probably looking for each team to score between 50 and 90 points and the entry would be the total of BOTH teams times the 12 games.

3.) Each contestant may enter the contest ONCE PER DAY during the contest period. The day will change at 12:00 NOON Eastern Daylight Savings Time (Atlanta Time). In other words, if your first entry is right now you can enter another guess after the next 12:00 Noon EDT until the contest closes.

4.) Entries will be made by posting a comment in this thread with your prediction. This contest thread will be duplicated on the JBM and GFY Webmaster Boards and the entries will be merged together for the contest purposes.

5.) The contest will be closed to new entries on Saturday at Noon EDT (or at the tip-off of the first Elite8 game, whichever comes first).

6.) The winners will be determined by the 4 closest, qualifying entries to the total points WITHOUT GOING OVER THE TOTAL.

7.) In the case of a tie for the final spot, the time stamp on the post will determine the winner with the entry posted first being determined the winner.

8.) The entire prize package is for two people, including two seats on the plane, two tickets to the game, two seats at all planned and unplanned events, and a single, double occupancy hotel accomodations.

9.) In case of any discrepancies that are or are not covered in these rules, the contest organizers and sponsors will make the final determination and their decision will be final.

GOOD LUCK!!!
