Help tASSy Convince Halcyon To Buy A Pug! (tASSy PICS)

Okay, I can't handle being dogless anymore! WEGCash's banner with Cory's pug on it was just the straw that broke the pink camel's back. I need to break Halcyon's dog-disdain down and get him on the canine-cuddling side - and I figured a little peer pressure couldn't hurt!

So, GFY'ers, post here - any encouraging responses get more pictures from a recent trip to Black's Beach. Anti-pug responses get dog poop (please leave your address so I know where to send it.) Thanks!

tASSy......... all I know about pugs is that they snort a lot and like to hump your leg, lol. I had one as a child and they are very loving so when HAL is not there, you can cuddle up with your pug.

buster and tator

buster is a young guy
VERY rowdy
almost annoying

Tator - well he is OLD and lazy and lays around
great dog

but well - they stink
all pugs do
but they are so damn cute

they shed ALOT for being a small haired dog aswell

I have a Pug... best dog ever... more personality than any dog I've ever had (I've had a Lab, a doberman, a Chow, an Irish Setter, and a German Sheppard)... had her for years and she still makes me laugh every day with her stupid looks

The noises are nothing... you get use to them very quick and never even notice them after a while... in fact, it's hard to sleep without her background half-snores.

Someone else above said they stink... mine doesn't so I don't know.

I will never own another breed

My landlord owns two pugs that live upstairs from me.

The good:
the female is super friendly and playful
they are small
they are fairly goodnatured

The bad:
they bark a LOT
they're very territorial
they SMELL
they SHED a LOT
they are noisy breathers
they are neurotic and have separation anxiety
everyone else tells them how ugly their dogs are

Two days ago I said to Marla, "Well the dogs seem to be enjoying the house and settling in well." She said, "Yeah.... they're ok." And these are HER dogs.

I like my sweetie much better

OMG girl, we have got to GANG BANG Halcyon into submission for you!!! Pugs are the yummiest little hairy angels on earth. Everyone knows just how crazy I am about my little MAN! Mine couldn't fit her tongue in her mouth if she tried... even when her mouth is closed she is always sticking her tongue out at you... dumbest lookin' dog ever

Someone else mentioned barking... only if someone knocks at the door and it's only a couple little barks, not annoying yaps... very well behaved in all ways too.

OMG, everything stated above is soooo true!

I've owned Shitzu's, doberman, german sheppard, and this little guy is the most amazing by far. No slight meant to my past doggies, Remington is just too much of a character, he he he!

I find his noises so endearing. I freak if he isn't making any sounds because I think something is wrong. This dog is always happy and ready to snuggle or play, even at 3 in the morning.

I can't feed Remi beef because it gives him the worse gas ever... as in evacuate the premisses stinky... So if anyone out there has a gassy pug, I would recommend cutting the beef out of his diet unless you like the smell, he he he!

We need a Pug Rules smiley! Maybe someone can make me one of those bouncing bananas for my pug? This is a perfect face pic for a banana pug.

I have a papillon named Lucy. I won't get into the story here, but not only has she changed my life, I think she saved it as well.

Spend some time talking to dog people and find out if a pug is really the dog for you. All dog breeds come with some sort of weird thing you wouldn't know unless you owned one for awhile. Some shed like CRAZY, some smell, some snore, some have a lot of genetic disorders to watch out for. Pugs happen to have all of those things. Doesn't mean it isn't the dog for you, but talk talk talk and then read read read about the dogs you're interested in.

I love Corgi's but the shedding would drive me insane. I also love Border Collies but I know I couldn't possibly keep up with their constant need for exercise and something to do. Anyway, just be sure you know all the benefits and pitfalls of the breed you're interested in. It's easy to talk about how cute they are and how much personality they have, but it's more important to talk about chronic health problems predominant in the breed as well as personality disorders (diggers, biters, neurotic, etc).

Be be forewarned is to have four arms - Kelly Bundy

Oh.. and when are we going to have a GFY Doggie Convention?

I'll also add... if Halcyon was anything like I was, only liking big dogs and wanting "a man's dog", tell him not to fret. She is small but stocky and tough; she thinks she's a pitbull. I can't play rough enough with her and she will never backdown. It's like a big dog compacted into a little stocky dog... but then she can turn around and be super affectionate the next minute She is the perfect dog
