Probably the wrong way to apply for a job.

Just got an "interesting" telephone call.

It was an operator for one of those relay services, the calling party types them a message, you respond, and they type it back to the caller. We have a customer that has speech issues, and he has used the service before, so I naturally thought it was him, and agreed to take the call.

The message: "I am from India, and I am a sys admin looking for employment. I have 4 years experience . . . "

That sounds like just what I need. A sys admin that can't communicate by telephone, and hasn't figured out email or ICQ.

What was funny was the first line: "Hello, are you there?"

Like WTF, wouldn't the operator have already told him that?

I think the operator must have gotten it because my response to the request for employment was, "ummm, no." and he disconnected the call right away. No pleasantries, no good-byes.
