jeez.. what compression are you using? I'm using 192k and im up to about 430 cd's and only at 17GB. I will add there are probably 30 singles and ep's out of that 430.. but still.. I determined 192k was about the bit rate where you can't hear the difference between cd's unless you're playing on great sound system.. and small enough to fit a bunch of them on an mp3 player..

compression above 192k is mostly crap. It amplifies certain tones too much like the bass, 'overcompression'. Juts cuz its bigger doesnt mean its better.

i added everything in itunes a few weeks back and it crashed, but I wanted to know how much time it was....i am figuring I have about a year of straight listening before anything repeats
