I use ad blocking software for the sole reason to block them ads... It sucks to because I like to see them ads...
I just hate to hear them... and like DWT I listen to music all the time so keeping sound off is not an option

me too! i have to have music playing.. i'll go insane without it.
anyways, i don't mind if they have sound when you roll over them, as long as when you roll OFF of them, it stops. i HATE HATE HATE the ones that just start playing and you can't stop unless you refresh or hit the back button.Comment

People have complained about them for years and those complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

I don't click banners that have sound...even if they are the exact sponsor I am looking for...I will not click...I will not sign up. I figure everyone knows the banners drive people nuts and any program who is willing to annoy a hell of a lot of people in an effort to attract their attention is not the kind of sponsor I want to do business with.
Three people I know have adblocked ALL banners on GFY because of the banners with sound.Comment

last night at work (i work as dj in a stripper club and have a puter on my dj boot) a girl was on stage and was surfing GFY then i pass my mouse over this fucking banner and the sound come out of the speaker during a girls show in front of over 100 people and all the eyes were turning to my boots instead of the girl stage that was kinda funny and ambarssing at the same time,,:-)

I have sound enabled for "rings" from incoming VOIP calls since I don't want to wear a headset all day, so I block all ads here, too
