my sister wants to buy something to listen to mp3s on. she asked me since im the computer guy in the family but i don't know anything about mp3 players or ipod. which is better? she said she thinks ipod might be more 'worth it' but i don't know if there is any difference. any advice?

Ipod is a brand .. it's the same as any MP3 player ... it works with Itunes which is nice .. very simple and user friendly ... I have an Ipod and an Iriver ... the interface for the Iriver is a bit more complex ... not much but i like Itunes better

I would suggest the iPod. It's cool to look at, easy to use, and there are a shitload of great products made by 3rd parties that work with it (speakers, docks, FM antennas, even fucking laser pointers).

I have to add that the Ipod makes a great external hard drive ... i have a 20g and I'm only using about 7g right now ... i use the rest to move files or bring pics and things with me .... Works Great ...
