How much do you work? How does your day go down?

Lots of people ask me how i get shit done. Boards, working on the program, etc. etc., my own interests. Basically, I work whenever I am awake unless I am partying, which next to going to shows, has been minimal. I wake up at 645am every morning, hangover or not, and get a shower, slam a smoothie with all sorts of "good for you shit", and power to the office, (unless i'm really wrecked). Then I check emails, handle any pissed off customers, (we all have a few), then start smashing on the task lists. Between processes I post on boards and handle ICQ messages. (if you wonder where i go for 20 minutes when I'm talking to you on ICQ, I'm on another machine). Then we have lunch at 12pm. After lunch emails get checked again and I do all my numbers games and traffic analysis for the day before, and right back to the task list and stuff. Around 6pm, I head home, make something to eat, and fire up the laptop in front of the t.v. I watch t.v. and check the boards and handle light repetitve work that I don't like to waste my day doing if at all possible. Like 1030pm, I try to hit the sack, if I can't sleep, I smash some of those melatonin pills and put it into something to drink and slam it. Normally by 1115pm I am asleep. The cycle repeats the next day.

wake up in the afternoon, do some work off and on throughout the day, check the boards late at night before i go to sleep around 4 am.. and been pushing my college assignments to the next day for the last 6 months. Fuck i need to finish that shit i been paying those fuckers all those months for nothing...

Up at 4:30 am every day - update LLs and TGPs for 2 hours with coffee and healthy shit, check boards and post, treadmill and weights for 2 hours then paysite updates. Start submits to tgps and LLs, and eat snack.
Post domain sales inside somewhere there on the other computer while submits are running
Start creatives for hosted gals and content updates for affiliates - then at noon, run into town to check on employees and do payroll, bookeeeping.
Back home for board reading, responding to emails etc till about 4 pm - then outside work if not raining (chainsaw gets alot of use LOL)
Dinner for animals and me (3 dogs and 3 cats) - then back to updates and adding new sites to the network - till around 11:30 pm - then a little TV and off to bed

6:00am - wake up cranky
6:30am - push ups, sit ups, run... basically an army work out without cadence
7:30am - shower / breakfast / newspaper / tv / wife time
9:00am - work
12:30pm - lunch / wife time
1:30pm - back to work
6:30pm - light up some "herbal essence", chill with my wife, go back and forth from the tv to my lap top checking stats, emails, and posting on boards

I go to sleep whenever...

We (Napolean and I) go through cycles. We go to sleep and wake up whenever. We work 30 minutes a day on average LOL but when we have new projects, we'll work a few days straight. We like to work hard for a few days and then do whatever we want for weeks at a time. We live like rock stars

We have a lot of things in our queue at the moment that we want to start tackling, so there will be some schedule changes in the near future. We are terrible with being on a dedicated schedule everyday. We get more done when we work at our own pace and comfort.

Most days we wake up, read GFY, check stats, check our servers and software and then whatever happens, happens. If we decide to work, we work... if not, we're never bored. I love the freedom of choice.

I only do stuff now that brings in passive income, so having to do actual work is pretty rare.

12:00 PM, shower and grab/make breakfast.
01:30 PM, play WoW.
07:00 PM, go to taco bell
08:00 PM, I usually have raids with my guild.
04:00 AM, it's off to bed.

A lot of times I skip the taco bell stop however since I might be stuck doing an instance, which has been a positive thing os far. I used to be fat and all the times i've gone days without eating to support my habit has worked out to be a positive thing :thumpsup

all depends on what needs to be done and whats going on. i work throughout the day every day of the week but if i want to take off or go somewhere, i'll do it. i don't want to be a slave to my income but i enjoy working (as long as its making me money) sometimes more than going out and being social. which isn't always a good thing.

most days i get up around 8am, do some work. depending on how much sleep i got i might go back to bed for a couple hours. after that i get up, get breakfast work through the day until abou 5 or 6. get supper ready, eat, do a bit of more work then hang out with the girlfriend for a few hours. head to bed but usually get up around 1 or 2am to check on some work related things, then sleep and wake up and do it all over again.

you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

grab the laptop and start going through email while I eat a bagel
answer any affiliate email, designer emails, put out fires -- things that can't wait until later
check gfy...maybe do a couple of posts, but I try to read and not post much during the day
Start making my way through my to-do list. What I'm doing always changes. It might be talking to designers, buying content, handling affiliate stuff, etc
update my sites
talk to people on ICQ throughout the day
eat a late lunch
Somewhere between 5 and 7 I make it to the gym for an hour if I'm lucky
sometimes grab something to eat from the gym or try to make something quick and semi-healthy at home
handle text work for clients
work on my blogs or other sites
go to bed when I can't keep my eyes open anymore -- usually around 2 or 3 am

wake up at 6:45...get the kids to school and daycare by 8, (I live up the street from both), make breakfast, have a beer and a morning cigarette, work efficiently for around an hour and BS the rest of the day..Go to bed around m midnight....

Sometimes I gake a couple hour nap between noon and 2:45

wake up around 6:30 am, submit galleries, shower, check mainstream stuff, head to the office, update blogs/create new ones, link exchanges etc and email throughout the day. Or if I need to, create a month worth the galleries for a sponsor and upload.

Usually have my evenings free to do whatever.

I get up at 6:45 and dress and feed the baby. take him to day care, and back by 8:30. Work till 12, and take 15 min for lunch. Sometimes like today, I eat and work. then take off at 4 to pick up the baby, and play with him until 8 or 9pm, and then back to work until 12. thats monday through fri. on saturday I work while he naps. and then after he goes to bed. ON sunday while he naps, and when he goes to bed.

Does it work better to "smash" the melatonin pills then to just take the pills? I do the same thing when I cant sleep but never thought to smash it.

so i like my busy life. when i go on vacations, i get bored after 3 days no matter what i am doing and have to go back to work.

I get up at noon every day after exactly 6 hours of sleep, then I get a shower and breakfast, put some clothes on and drive to the office with my main managers who live nearby. Normally I spend a lot of time speaking with affiliates on how to improve my programs, I read and reply to emails (probably more than 30 emails a day), plus I take care of the new projects being developed. I have 3 offices in different areas of Europe to take care of and I need to spend a lot of time to chat with managers running those offices to make sure everything is going well. They are constantly briefing me on what other teams are doing, because there is no other way when you have that many people working for you. This includes programmers, supports, sysadmins, and marketing guys. Some of you would say I don?t have a life, well that?s quite true. Normally I don't have a lot of free time but I love what I am doing and it gives me a lot of satisfaction to achieve new goals in my life. I try to be at least a little sporty so every two days I go for a squash for an hour or two, other than that I work most of my time. In the last few years I think I haven't done any vacationing except for some weekend breaks to meet my family. That?s it; dedication, hard work, and improvement got me to where I am today.

what an awesome thread.

Explaining my workday is probably best described by explaining my free time. I watch anywhere from 1-2 hours of TV a day. Run about a 1 hour errand every other day. I never stop for eating, I squeeze showers in and do like 2 straight hours of hard housework every Sunday to keep the place clean.

Aside from that I'm at the helm working on SOMETHING, always. I don't have a set routine like you A1R3K, but I'd like to. So many things always racing around in my head, I'm the type of person that if I'm not actively getting it done I may never finish it. I think I'm gonna die very young

I've actually been considering how much more efficient my balance may be if I had an office to go to, but I'm worried I would never go because I literally roll out of bed and start work every day and don't stop until XY and Z are wrapped up.

-relax for a few hrs by watching tv/chill on irc/read the forums

Wake up when ever I am ready...

Usually around 4-5pm...

Take a nice shit, smoke a cig...

Tell the wife to make me some food...

And then turn on the box to see what the day is gonna bring, usually a bunch of happy clients and some news ones...

At 7pm my team gets online so I deal with them, Then about eight dinner is ready..

After dinner I check on the designers, deal with clients and post on the boards/surf the interweb till a little after 3am..

Then I hit the hay with the wife... watch a movie....

Then I usually have some sort of sexual activaty with her for a few hours then crash...

Wake up and do it again the next day

I wish I could get a schedule. Impossible. My clients are world wide. Usually I am up very late dealing with inquiries. I hate timezones. I guess to make it you create a flexibilty to earn the ever loving buck. I do it daily as needed. The cost of making a living without a boss. I will take that.
