how do you select a shape on a layer? with other versions, you could just hold down "ctrl" and click the layer. how do you do it with CS2?

hmm.. don't know what to say, lol. works just fine for me.
You DO mean, that you're clicking the layer from the 'layers' menu on the righthand side of the screen with your crtl+mouse?
..not the actual layer on the image you edit...and I'm off.Comment

yeah, exactly. usually, the cursor would change and you could select the shape of the layer by clicking on the layer in the layers menu. its not working for me. maybe it has something to do with the settings.
anyway, thanks. i will keep trying to figure it out.Comment

you have to make the shape on it's own layer, or it will just become part of the whole layer you put it on. ie. if you have a photo layer, and you draw a shape on that layer without making a new layer, that shape becomes part of the photo layer, so you can't select just the shape.Comment

thanks... i know its been raining a lot. you've been trapped inside. its not your fault ;)you have to make the shape on it's own layer, or it will just become part of the whole layer you put it on. ie. if you have a photo layer, and you draw a shape on that layer without making a new layer, that shape becomes part of the photo layer, so you can't select just the shape.Comment
