Why do you say that, Jace?
I've never heard of nationalnet, and so I did a traceroute.
From my home ISP in Europe, once i leave my ISP's network, I go through only telia.net routers.
From a US dedi box, it passes through Savvis.
Now from my personal experiences, telia.net is a *really* bad transit route: I had broadband from Telecom Italia France for 18 months, and as soon as my contract was up, I got out straight away - they routed through telia.net and they routers were constantly acting up. Honestly, 2 days a week at peak periods, I couldn't access any US hosts. That was more than a year ago so maybe they've fixed it.
I also used to host with LayeredTech, which is 100% Savvis, and I got fed up with slow Savvis latency to Europe, so I got out after about 2 years (that said, LT were great at getting the Savvis engineers to sort out the probs, but it would have been better if the probs were never there to start with). However, now that Savvis are Tier1, they must have gotten their act together....
