Any of you guys have the same ?problem? with the new Photoshop CS2? Somehow it really seems to take up a decent amount more system resources compared to CS.

Sounds like someone needs a more robust computer...works fine with my G5 Dual 2ghz Macintosh (with mega-RAM and miscellaneous bells and whistles).

I've found it runs slightly slower, but not enough to be annoying. I'm processing Canon 1DsII files (16 megapixel) without any probs.
What IS $#@(*& annoying is that CS2 pulls window focus about 3 times as it loads. If you're a multitasking freak like I am and routinely switch to something else while you wait for software to load then it really pisses you off.

Indeed, I don?t like the auto focus either. The picture browser has been improved a lot though. Well, maybe I should just close a few browsers, premiere, and some of the Word windows.Originally posted by rowanI've found it runs slightly slower, but not enough to be annoying. Just wanted to see if somebody notices it as well.Comment

PS has always eaten lots of Computer resources...Originally posted by ValidusAny of you guys have the same ?problem? with the new Photoshop CS2? Somehow it really seems to take up a decent amount more system resources compared to CS.Comment

I find that CS2 tends to start bogging down after it's been open for a while, seems to load alot faster than it's predecessor initially, but when it stays open for a while (or maybe it's just when I start opening more windows), it becomes more of a resource hog... I dunno. Maybe it's just starved for attention, and doesn't play well with other windows.Originally posted by ValidusCS3, haven?t heard of its release? so no clue. Thanks for your reply though, too bad you didn?t give you input regarding the system resources.
heh

If you're running the warez version, be aware that the 'release' version was not the final version from Adobe. Download the trial from adobe.com, and you'll see the difference.Originally posted by ValidusAny of you guys have the same ?problem? with the new Photoshop CS2? But also, yeah, it can get chuggy.Comment

Yeah , I tried it out for a while and found the same thing .Originally posted by VoodooI find that CS2 tends to start bogging down after it's been open for a while, seems to load alot faster than it's predecessor initially, but when it stays open for a while (or maybe it's just when I start opening more windows), it becomes more of a resource hog... Works great in short bursts but if you're a full time designer it hogs too many resources and has to be shut down every few hours or everything starts jamming up , gotta wait for text to render longer etc .
I'll be using CS for now ,
CS2 also changes some shit that I haven't figuired out how to get back to CS defaults ,
For instance , the CTRL G is now group , and doesn't create a clipping mask , big pain in the ass for me .
AND the background seems to have to be selected with a right click instead of as straight click , which is annoying as hell .. maybe I just have to play with it longer .Comment

First one that was released early was not final, There are proper releases as always with every warez releaseOriginally posted by quantum-xIf you're running the warez version, be aware that the 'release' version was not the final version from Adobe.
