I think it's a great Idea.

Multiple formats always created problems no matter what. It would be great if there was just one.

Seeing how so many players are universal now, and I can tell you from our stats....I think it is a good decision. We even got rid of Quicktime and noticed no difference in our surfers habits...

Agreed. And the company hosting all the vids doesn't have to worry about the higher storage feeds of all the different formats. Streamlining and lowering you monthly expenses allows programs to pay more $ and compete better.

I used to love Real Player. Back in the late 90s I would stream radio to my computer on a 28k connection. To me it was a miracle. Next thing I know Real Player was a bloated annoying piece of crap. Haven't had it on any of my machines since 1999. Fuck them.

Realplayer=bad user experience. The startcenter is annoying as hell, and behaves almost like spyware.
