    Treo vs Blackberry

So, anyone know which is better as a phone/e-mail/everything type device that would replace my current phone.

What does Blackberry use? Some sort of Palm OS or is it something proprietary?

blackberry hands down. i as well as several of my friends have had 7250's. then we all switched to treo 700w's.

after about three months of nothing but problems from our treo's we all switched to the new blackberry 8703's.

i love my blackberry and will never go back to a palm device. the reception on the treo was laughable, and all the problems with windows mobile are really staggering.

also, after about two months, none of our treo's would hot sync anymore. for no real reason. it just stopped working one day. i have heard similar problems with the 650p and 700p as well.

if you like gadetry that sometimes works for phone/email, get a treo.

if you want something that doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but is reliable, gets great reception, and does great for buisness oriented use, get the blackberry.

                            I own both a Palm Treo 650 and a Blackberry 8700.

My Blackberry collects dust in a drawer.

I think the e-mail is vastly superior on the Blackberry.. but I do like to have a camera and other multimedia functions. I like the browser better on the Palm. The Blackberry treats some flash navigation like one huge button and you can't click individual links.

I don't like Windows Mobile one bit, personally. I just don't think there's one perfect device for everyone, just depends on what you want out of it. If you live in a mobile broadband area, some of the new Windows Mobile devices are 3G and the Blackberry and Palm aren't.

After having had a 8700 Berry and a Treo 700WX, i kept the Treo700WX. Blackberry is too proprietary, no touch screen options, etc.

Even though window mobile leaves some things to be desired, it beats the Berry OS any day of the week.

So, if you have a choice, Treo - no questions asked.

I was using Palm devices since day 1, then Treo's. But it came down to a simple thing - size. Being in this business my attire is shorts, not a suit or slacks, and I hated the Treo pulling down my shorts with its weight. And I wasn't about to wear a belt and a clip. In December I switched over to BlackBerry Pearl. Took a bit to get used to but I really like it.

So what you really need as ask yourself is this. Are you willng to put up with the brick-like Treo or do you want to have a phone like Pearl that is slim, sexy and does everything you ever need it to do.

Here is another item that really makes BB better. I have 1000+ contacts in my Outlook. But when i sync I don't want all of them on the phone. Treo, or any other sync software for Treo, does NOT allow you to select which contacts to move to the phone and which to leave alone. BB does that.

I've tried both and Treo is by far the superior...it's just nicer to use in every aspect I find.
