The French threatened the oil companies with a "special tax" if they didn't return some of their bumper profits to consumers in the form of lower gas prices. (And go figure the oil companies reduced gas prices in France)
What sucks is that ANY president the U.S. has ever had other than the current one would do the same thing to the oil companies here in the U.S.
Unfortunately the current administration is owned by the Oil/Energy industry so the record excess profits for the oil companies will continue while prices continue to reach record highs for consumers.
It's a very sad day in world history when the French president has more balls than the American one.
