Why not tour a few Asian countries? Thailand is great and Japan is kind of on the way. I love Singapore and Malaysia is right there but that's a bit pricey trip. Philippines was great but I really needed the locals to show me around since the tourist places were crap.

Well, San Francisco is a great place to spend a few weeks, however if you crave something more exotic then I recommend Japan. Purchase a Japan Rail Pass and travel all over - good places to visit include Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe, Hiroshima, and back to Tokyo...hey, that sounds like the itinerary of my next trip there...
