    hivelocity.net suck.

By far the worst host i have used! Some one told me they were really good here. Set up 10mb server (sending 0 traffic) and getting 50kb/sec.

My cheap fdc boxes are getting 200kb/sec.

And they are level (3)! Must be a joke.

we've 3 boxes there and so far so good (knocking on wood). Furthermore, on a price/quality relation they're amongst the best we've used. Maybe you'd try to contact them to see what's going on

How can a new server that i send 0 traffic to get 50-80kb/sec? I have never experienced that before, no matter how bad the host is.

      Well, letting you guys know.

You start @ 180/kb goes down to 100/kb. How much traffic are you pushing and what plan you got?

I just have the SH Windows Plat account, 12 domains, 160 gigs a month deal.
I mainly use it to run ColdFusion scripts that the search engines enjoy spidering, so there's not a ton of content to burn bandwidth with.

I put up a server there right before the 2257 stuff. Paid 3 months to avoid the setup fee. Then the new regs I put in a support ticket to cancel the server. and they left if up.
Didnt really think anything of it. cause the domains were no longer pointed there. a month later I got a letter from their lawyer cause someone hacked into the mailserver.

Anyway thats my experience with them. I guess you get what you pay for.

they arnt level3 you idiot, theyre cogent with level3 and cogent BGP on INBOUND only, OUTBOUND is 100% COGENT

Cogent is not bad, you would be getting fast speeds, its hivelocity's fault its slow, not cogents.

When I was at Candid they used to buy a bw link from us. They must have switched to cogent a year or so ago when they cancelled their link. They seemed like pretty good guys back then.
