Rule #1 - Know exactly what you need.

$10 Million to $20 Million is a spread of $10 Million.

You don't go to VC's and say I need $10 to $20. You've got to be specific.

this isnt for a startup, its for an already well established business looking for expansion capital, the growth is there, the immediate capital is not

Whip up a business plan and start shopping it to smaller VC firms or firms like Crittenden Roth in OC. When I was working for a VC, we frequently shopped our projects to other VCs to spread the risk. Of course, this was during the height of the Dot Com boom.

This would imply that GFY is a place for people that took their own (!) business to the next level in the first place. Think about it.
