no, the pics are going to be on a cd-r. Is there anything I can do to do on the burning process so it is only a read only file to prevent people from downloading it onto their hard drive?

You can transform it into a sort of presentation

Everyone can create an ISO image of any cd and duplicate it...i guess it cant be protected against duplication

damn, so there isnt any protections whatsoever for duplication to occur. What about a cd key program that allows only one ip address per cd key? But then again, i know there are cracks for those too....hmmmmmmm. Any other suggestions?

you should try and explain better the purpose and i'm sure i could help.

images would need to be over 2mb per pic to get around most email attachment limits. even then many providers will now offer to downsize the picture for you when you attach it so im afraid going that route is rather useless.

I suggest hiding the pictures in a flash presentation.

the other solution would be drm. code the pictures into a slideshow presentation using windows movie maker, then use drm to protect the video. this way it cant be copied off the cd.. but would also require an internet connection at all times

I have 40 pictures that are on a powerpoint presentation that I have in 2 days. The presentation will burnt onto a cd-r(this is required, no exceptions), the presentation will be distibuted to one hundred people, therefore I will make one hundrer cdr's. I do not want anyone duplicated the cd or allowing the to send over email. I would be willing to pay someone if they would help me solve this problem Thanks smokey

smokey I am so stacked with work, if you could quote me a good price on your services, maybe we could work something out. The presentation must be distributed tuesday, so i need to burn them by before monday night. I will be doing a similar presentation next week, so if time is a factor for both of us, then maybe we can work something out for next weeks presentation. Thanks

what this is is a video/media slideshow presentation so you can specify the amount of time for each picture to be displayed

the pictures are kept on a web based server. you simply repeat from
to
for each picture , also specifying a duration for the pictures to be displayed

you can also display a banner under the images..

save the file as ANYTHING.wax or .asx or wxv

it will open in windows media player

the end user "could" still manipulate the file to find the web based urls for the images , but theres some things you can do on the server storing the pics to get around that ( sort of the opposite of hotlink protection )

i could whip you up a demo if you want , and even a nice little intro feature for the presentation, all you gotta do is put all the pics in a folder somewhere on the net give me the url ill do the rest and setup the protection file for the server so the pics cant be accessed manually

what this is is a video/media slideshow presentation so you can specify the amount of time for each picture to be displayed

the pictures are kept on a web based server. you simply repeat from
to
for each picture , also specifying a duration for the pictures to be displayed

you can also display a banner under the images..

save the file as ANYTHING.wax or .asx or wxv

it will open in windows media player

the end user "could" still manipulate the file to find the web based urls for the images , but theres some things you can do on the server storing the pics to get around that ( sort of the opposite of hotlink protection )

Smokey this sound great, can you leave me your icq, or the best way i can get a hold of you to discuss more about this solution. I will be stepping out of my office for the remainder of the day. If time is a factor, we can try to develop this solution for next week. Thanks a lot, you are saving me a lot of head ache.

you could also just hide the pics inside an exe

Open the jpg in photoshop then change the resolution to 1200 and this will make the file huge in size.

But someone can reverse that in photoshop and then send the pic over the net. So I don't think there is a full solution to this.
